Building AI shouldn’t be this hard
If you’ve ever trained a model on one platform, deployed it on another, and spent weeks just keeping it alive, you know the pain. That’s exactly why Lightning AI and Voltage Park have merged.
What this means:
- One platform for training, inference, and production AI
- Built-in, owned GPU infrastructure with on-demand scale
- No disruption for existing Lightning or Voltage Park customers
Most clouds weren’t built for AI. Traditional clouds were designed for CPU-based applications like websites and services, not for GPU-intensive workloads like large-scale training and inference. Developers end up juggling multiple tools, vendors, and massive GPUs just to keep models running. The result? More time spent on infrastructure than building models. We knew there had to be a better way.
We’ve heard it from frontier AI teams, enterprises moving AI from experimentation into production, and millions of individual developers exploring what’s possible. Managing infrastructure shouldn’t be the bottleneck to innovation, but too often it is.
Why Lightning AI and Voltage Park merged
Lightning AI brings software developers already love: training, inference, orchestration, and MLOps tools that make it easy to iterate quickly. Voltage Park brings purpose-built GPU infrastructure: owned and operated, high-performance clusters optimized for AI workloads, with predictable performance and scalability.
Together, we’re building something new: a vertically integrated AI-native cloud. One platform to train, deploy, and scale AI, without stitching multiple vendors together or rewriting workflows. By combining software and infrastructure, teams can build and ship AI faster, without needing to license or integrate expensive, single-purpose inference and MLOps platforms, and without surprises or slowdowns.
Same platform, expanded capabilities
For developers already using Lightning AI, your workflows don’t change today. Your projects, code, and contracts keep working exactly as they do now.
Lightning users now have access to 36,000+ AI-optimized GPUs, including H100s, B200s, and GB300s, with the ability to burst into Lightning’s owned infrastructure when additional capacity is needed; and the ability to create high-performance, production-grade Kubernetes clusters purpose-built for AI workloads. Lightning AI will continue to offer its GPU marketplace, providing flexible access to hyperscaler and neocloud providers through Lightning's unified software layer.
Voltage Park users gain access to the Lightning AI platform for training and inference, team and project management, AI-assisted MLOps development, as well as enterprise-grade observability, role-based access control (RBAC), and operational controls.
It’s not about replacing what you know. It’s about giving developers, AI teams, and enterprises the tools they need to build, scale, and iterate faster, while keeping workflows seamless and predictable.
Why this matters for AI developers and teams
The goal is simple: less glue code, fewer tools to stitch together, and more time actually building AI that ships.
By integrating software and infrastructure, we remove friction. Teams can iterate quickly, scale reliably, and move ideas into production faster. Whether you’re running a frontier research lab, shipping an AI-powered product at an enterprise, or experimenting as an individual developer, this makes it easier to focus on what matters: building AI that works.
Building the AI-native cloud
We believe the next generation of cloud platforms will be AI-native from day one. Just like AWS was foundational for the internet era, we’re building the cloud for the AI era: software-first, infrastructure-native, and designed around how AI is trained, deployed, and scaled.
This merger reflects a bigger shift in the industry. The days of stitching together point solutions are over. Developers need an integrated platform that scales with their ambitions, performs reliably, and removes compromises between software and hardware. Lightning AI and Voltage Park together make that vision a reality.
